Setup: Outlook Express

To setup your Outlook Express client to work with Hosted Mail:

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
3. Click Add, and then click Mail...
4. Enter your name in the 'Display name' field, and click Next
5. Enter your full email address
6. For 'My incoming mail server is a ______ server', please select POP3 in the drop-down menu
7. Enter 'Hosted Mail.emeraldhost.net' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server' field. Enter 'Hosted Mail.emeraldhost.net' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' field
8. Click Next
9. Enter your full email address in the 'Account name' field. Enter your password in the 'Password' field, and click Next, then Finish
10. You'll return to the "Internet Accounts" window, where you'll select the Hosted Mail account, and click Properties
11. Click the Servers tab and select "My server requires authentication"

12. Click the Advanced tab
    • Incoming server must be 995, and must use SSL encryption
    • Outgoing server must be 465, SSL encryption

13. Click OK, then Close
